You are what you eat, you become what you eat!

I love food, I really do. I love a nice loaf of bread with warm real butter and sprinkles on it. Or apple-pie, or cheese cake. I love baklava, a pita with humus and so on. The thing is: it made me a sick person. I wrote about it before: gluten, sugars, colors, dairy etc. So, although it is hard, I stopped and I chose me. How? Why? I will tell you.

First I want to explain you the meaning of the word food. This is what Brittanica.com says:

Food, substance consisting essentially of protein, carbohydrate, fat, and other nutrients used in the body of an organism to sustain growth and vital processes and to furnish energy. The absorption and utilization of food by the body is fundamental to nutrition and is facilitated by digestion.

Nutrients

To cut a short story short there is food and nutrients and there is filling and no nutrients. Filling is: cake, GMO, fake popcorn, fake vegan schnitzels, noodles you have to add water too, factory bread, candy, honey from China and so on. Food should contain nutrients, which means it will feed your cells, helps your beautiful system to be healthy and your gut to operate the way it should.

But why?

Our system, I keep telling everybody, is one so perfectly designed. It works perfectly if the conditions are perfect. Eating only filling makes the system goes slow and finally breaking down. We call this disease. Our system is a natural one, not chemical. So why take medication copied from nature, but made out of chemicals with terrible side effects. Why not use the real thing? Why eat food that is not real, that only gives you the idea of a full stomach, but does not work for your cells. On top of it: breaks down your cells: disease. It starts with a headache,  a belly ache and it becomes worse and worse.

How?

It is a mindset. I am the mom of 5 and the grandmom of one. Although I live far away, I need to be able to be there for my children and live a long and healthy life. Soon I will be able to travel more and to come to the Netherlands more frequently. At 48 I got Hashimoto’s, my thyroid stopped working. Being an Integral therapist I started to look for solutions. They were just around the corner. This year, in July, I will be 60 years old. Ofcourse I have wrinkles, my arms can move ten minutes longer than I would like, but I am healthy. My gut is working great, although I can not use gluten and dairy. Now food stopped being my enemy and it became my friend. And yes, I still eat chocolate and at Shabat we drink a glass of wine. But that is fine.

So?

Ofcourse you can not change the world in one day. You have to try and see the results. Stop eating the factory bread and maybe bake your own made of different dough, organic, no gluten. Or stop to give your children sugars and additives. Turn your food around from filling into food. You will see you will feel better, less tired, more power. Rome was not build in one day, but this is your life, your body. Is there anything more important? And do not tell me it is expensive. I did not see a doctor for sickness for many, many years, so these costs dissapear. Even now in the times of Covid, I am healthy. Try it!

To life Lechajim!
